Principal & School Head
Mr Gotsileone Matlape has served as the principal of Hikane Primary School for over a decade, steering the school through growth, infrastructure development, and academic improvement. A proud son of the North West Province, Mr Matlape holds a Bachelor of Education degree and brings more than 20 years of teaching and administrative experience to his role.
Under his leadership, Hikane Primary has consistently improved its academic results, expanded its extracurricular offerings, and strengthened ties with the Morokwaneng community. Mr Matlape is known for his open-door policy, his commitment to every learner's wellbeing, and his belief that education is the greatest gift a community can give its children.

Mrs Mosweu oversees curriculum delivery, manages daily school operations, and deputises for the principal. With 18 years of Foundation Phase teaching experience and a Diploma in Education Management, she coordinates staff development workshops and drives the school's literacy improvement strategy across all grades.
Mrs Tlhomelang leads the Foundation Phase department (Grade R – 3), coordinating the CAPS curriculum, mentoring junior educators, and monitoring literacy and numeracy milestones. She holds an Advanced Certificate in Teaching and has pioneered the school's play-based learning programme that boosted Grade 3 reading scores by 18%.
Mr Segokgo leads curriculum planning for Grades 4–7, manages assessment schedules, and coordinates academic enrichment programmes including the district mathematics olympiad and inter-school quiz. A B.Ed Honours graduate, he has led teams of learners to three consecutive top-5 finishes in the Dr Ruth S Mompati District Mathematics Competition.
Specialising in early childhood development with a National Diploma in ECD, Ms Rametse creates a warm, play-centred environment for our youngest learners. She designs age-appropriate phonics games, sensory activities, and creative play stations that build school readiness while nurturing emotional confidence.
With 12 years of Foundation Phase experience and a B.Ed in Foundation Phase Teaching, Mrs Moremedi expertly guides Grade 1 learners through phonics-based reading instruction, beginner numeracy, and handwriting development. Her patient, methodical approach has helped hundreds of children take their first steps in literacy.
An innovative educator who uses storytelling, group projects, and hands-on manipulatives to make learning memorable and fun. Mrs Gaogane holds an Advanced Certificate in Teaching and coordinates the school's reading corner initiative, where learners borrow Setswana and English storybooks to read at home with their families.
Mr Mothibi teaches Mathematics and Natural Sciences with infectious enthusiasm, using experiments, nature walks, and practical demonstrations to bring the CAPS curriculum to life. A B.Ed graduate specialising in Mathematics Education, he runs the school's after-hours maths club for learners wanting to sharpen their problem-solving skills.
A compassionate educator who excels in Social Sciences and English, Mrs Sebogodi encourages critical thinking through debate, creative writing, and research-based projects. She holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Education and leads the school's annual Heritage Day programme, curating cultural content that connects learners to their Setswana roots.
Mr Modise is an enthusiastic teacher of Mathematics and Technology, known for making complex concepts accessible through visual aids, real-world examples, and collaborative problem-solving. A recent B.Ed graduate with distinction in Technology Education, he also coaches the boys' soccer team and mentors learners in basic coding and digital literacy skills.
Mrs Khutsafalo prepares Grade 7 learners for the critical transition to secondary school, focusing on academic readiness, independent study skills, and leadership development. She holds a B.Ed Honours in Curriculum Studies and runs the school's peer mentoring programme, where Grade 7 learners support younger children with reading and homework.
Our dedicated support team — administrative clerk Mrs Mpho Kgosiemang, three general workers, and two NSNP food handlers — ensures the school runs smoothly every day. From managing enrolment records and financial administration to preparing 380 nutritious meals daily and maintaining spotless classrooms, they are the backbone of Hikane Primary.
