Rooted in Community, Growing for the Future

Hikane Primary School was established in the early 2000s to address the growing educational needs of the Morokwaneng Village community in the Morokweng area of South Africa's North West Province. Born from the collective aspiration of local families who believed that quality education should be within every child's reach, the school began with a handful of classrooms and a small but determined group of educators.

Over the years, Hikane Primary has grown into a thriving institution with modern facilities, a complete primary school curriculum, and a culture of academic excellence. Today, the school serves 380 learners from Grade R through Grade 7, supported by 11 dedicated educators who bring passion, expertise, and genuine care to the classroom every day.

The name "Hikane" carries deep cultural significance in the local Setswana-speaking community, reflecting the values of perseverance, unity, and progress that guide our educational philosophy. As a Quintile 1, No-Fee school, we ensure that quality education remains accessible to all children, regardless of their family's financial circumstances.

"At Hikane Primary School, we believe that every child carries within them the seeds of greatness. It is our sacred responsibility to nurture those seeds with care, patience, and dedication."

As principal, I am honoured to lead a school that stands as a beacon of hope and opportunity for the children of Morokwaneng. Our journey has not always been easy — we face the challenges common to rural schools in South Africa — but our determination to provide quality education has never wavered.

I invite parents, community members, and well-wishers to partner with us in this noble endeavour. Together, we can ensure that the children of Morokweng have every opportunity to succeed and make their mark in the world.
