How We Measure Progress

Continuous Assessment

We use CASS (Continuous Assessment) as the primary mode of evaluation, including tests, projects, assignments, presentations, and practical activities throughout each term to build a comprehensive picture of each learner's progress.

Term Reports

Detailed report cards are issued at the end of each school term, providing parents with clear information about their child's academic performance, attendance record, behaviour, and areas for improvement.

Parent Meetings

Regular parent-teacher meetings are held each term to discuss learner progress, share strategies for home support, and foster a collaborative partnership between the school and family in each child's education.

Extra Support for Every Learner

At Hikane Primary, no child is left behind. We provide a range of academic support interventions to ensure that every learner reaches their potential:

  • Remedial Support: Targeted small-group tutoring for learners who need extra help in Mathematics and Languages
  • Homework Assistance: After-school homework support sessions guided by designated educators
  • Reading Programme: A dedicated reading initiative to improve literacy levels, with a small but growing school library
  • Peer Tutoring: Senior learners are paired with younger learners to provide mentorship and academic support
  • District Assessment Support: Preparation sessions for Annual National Assessments (ANA) and district benchmarking tests
