Hikane Primary School welcomes all learners from the Morokwaneng Village and surrounding communities in the Morokweng area. As a Quintile 1, No-Fee public school, there are absolutely no tuition fees or registration charges. Every child deserves access to quality education, and we are here to ensure that promise is kept.

Our enrolment process is simple and straightforward. We accept applications for Grade R through Grade 7 during the official registration period set by the North West Provincial Education Department, typically between August and November each year for the following academic year.

The school will review your application and confirm placement. You will be notified of acceptance and receive information about the first day of school.

Age Requirements

  • Grade R: Learner must turn 5 by 30 June of the admission year
  • Grade 1: Learner must turn 6 by 30 June of the admission year
  • Grade 2–7: Age-appropriate placement based on previous academic records

  • Fees: Hikane Primary is a No-Fee school — no tuition, registration, or activity fees are charged
  • School Uniform: Learners are expected to wear the prescribed school uniform. Assistance may be available for families in need

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Do I need to pay any fees?
    No. Hikane Primary School is classified as a Quintile 1 No-Fee school. All tuition, registration, and basic learning materials are provided at no cost to families.
  • Can my child attend if we live outside Morokwaneng?
    Yes. While priority is given to learners residing in the immediate school zone, we accept learners from surrounding areas subject to available capacity.
  • What if I don't have a birth certificate for my child?
    We strongly recommend obtaining a birth certificate from the Department of Home Affairs. However, the South African Schools Act requires that no child be turned away due to lack of documentation. The school will assist you through the process.
  • Is transport provided?
    The school does not provide transport directly. However, the North West Department of Education arranges scholar transport for learners who live more than 5 kilometres from the school. Enquire at the office for details.
  • What is the school uniform?
    The school uniform consists of a white shirt, dark grey trousers or skirt, and black shoes. Details and approved suppliers will be provided upon registration.
